THE UNITED NATIONS
The United Nations, or the UN for short, is an international organization. Almost all countries in the world today are a member. There are 193 members as of September 2016. Members can benefit by this belonging to the ‘international community’. This is because members are entitled certain social, economic or territorial rights upon which action can be taken when they are not honored. The United Nations Charter is the document enlisting the United Nations’ code of practise. The United Nations is the closest the world has ever achieved so far on building an international community. The headquarters are in New York. See United Nations Self-Defense Article, and World Tour, for more.
